A dental AI receptionist, explained
What a dental AI receptionist does
It answers in one ring while your team is with patients, books new and existing patients against your real calendar and texts a confirmation. It answers the routine questions: opening hours, location, which dentist sees what, what to bring.
It confirms upcoming visits and handles reschedules by phone or text, and when a slot is cancelled it can offer it to people on your waiting list.
Emergency triage and handover
The agent does not diagnose or give clinical advice. You and we agree a list of urgent triggers, for example severe pain, swelling, a knocked-out tooth or bleeding that will not stop. Calls that match are passed to a person on your team immediately with a summary, so the patient does not repeat themselves. The list can be changed at any time.
Recall reminders
Recalls fill the diary. The agent can contact patients who are due a check-up with a short message and offer a slot. It only contacts patients with an existing relationship, with an easy opt-out, and you approve the list and set the weekly cap before anything is sent.
Practice software and patient data
We connect to the calendar or practice software you use. If an integration does not exist, we scope building it before any work starts.
Dental records are sensitive. We agree data handling in writing before we start: what is stored, where, for how long and who can see it. We do not claim a certification we do not hold, and any rule that applies to you, such as HIPAA in the US or UK GDPR in the UK, is scoped first.
Is it right for you?
It fits if calls go unanswered during treatments, after-hours calls are lost, or no-shows and gaps are a problem. It is less useful for a very small practice with a handful of calls a week. We will tell you honestly on the first call.
